When Should I Start My Puppy in Training?

Puppies can begin training as early as 8 weeks old. The early social development window between 8–16 weeks plays an important role in shaping confidence, behavior, and future responsiveness.

Starting early allows us to build positive associations and clear structure from the beginning.

While early exposure is important, all puppies participating in our programs must have age-appropriate vaccinations prior to starting.

We follow the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) puppy socialization guidelines when designing our programs.

Vaccine Requirements for The Puppy Program

To participate in training programs held at our dedicated training location, puppies must have:

• Distemper/Parvo (DHPP or equivalent)
• Bordetella
• Rabies (once age-appropriate)

Puppies must remain current on their veterinarian-recommended booster schedule and provide proof of vaccination prior to enrollment.
